Hope Beyond Hope

At times, we use "hope" regarding things or events we wish to cease or avoid, like "I hope that's not the case."

Biblically speaking (Jesus speaking, if you will) uses "Hope" in a much broader and deeper way, mainly, that is, we "Hope" in order to avoid the consequences of evil

For Jesus, there was One Great Hope, to enter into heaven and live there forever.

Indeed, many among us need to make effective use of Jesus' Hope. When life becomes perilous for us, Jesus would have us Hope in a Big Way, which is to Hope for Heaven, not just in the hereafter but in the here and now.

Thus it was that Jesus told his disciples, "love one another as I have loved you." knowing that in Hope love would inevitably come their way.

So, when our lives have turned sour. or appear to be turning sour, when we engage in HOPING, the threat of sourness will turn to love, which includes forgiveness and the awesome opportunity to begin anew.

Hope beyond Hope. That is our salvation.
