*I have mixed feelings about the new season. First of all, I'm disappointed in my Refugio Bobcats, who can't seem to be able to adjust to not having Jason Herring as their heqd footbll coach (Herring continues as the AD.)
But I'm eager to see whether the Cisco Loboes can return to the throne room. The Loboes have the potential to do so.
Most confusing, however, is the fact that so many teams have a shot at making it to the title game. The Shiner Comanches, the Mart Panthers and the\Ganado Indians (and others) also might make it to the final in December, as may any one of several other teams, like San Augustine and, yes, Timpson.
There is a big plus to my confusion; that's the way it should be, an unpredictable season, when there are numerous upsets and advances by teams usually thought not to be in the running.
Conclusion; 2026 is going to be a great football season for Texas high school football
