Refugio Facing Uphill Climb

The Bobcats of 2027 may experience something they're not at all accustomed to; they may well face a

formidable opponent every week, beginning with Game 1, when they travel to George West.

Key members of last year's extremely talented team have moved on beyond high school, meaning there will be new and untested leadership for the Cats.

But new head coach Eli Boxell is not giving up. The returnees have some experience among them and all know they have a tradition to live up to.

Can they? We'll just have to wait and see. But don't count out the Bobcats; they could regroup to make another title run in 2AD. Texas Football magazine predicts a district title for them.

Matt Perez is the anticipated quarterback for Eli's 2026 team. Most other members of the football squad will be in the process of developing their talents.
