On Being A Decent Person

We have all the symptoms of a sick society. Yes, we do. We lie. We cheat. We steal. We kill.

And it must be added: we are enthralled as a people with our sick behavior. The news meda provide us with what we most want, the current news about how sick we are.

The answer is easy, almost too easy, so simp[e that it can be summed up in two words

Do good! That's the answer to what is decent living. And it's not complicated. We give friends our best advice. We help others. We volunteer. We go to church or synagogue with likeminded people, with all of us simply wanting to do good.

To whom have we spoken kindly this day. To whom have we shared our most beautiful memories Have we donated to causes that are known to do good?

"Live the good life" -- is another way of saying do good. Avoid trash talk; do not support media that give us only the bad news; tell the media how hungry you are, we are, for a truly good life.
