Mike Waltz is no longer head of our national security. Instead, he will soon be our ambassador to the United Nations.

Waltz's problems as the head of national security mainly stemmed from his inclusion of a reporter in a private (supposedly top secret) "Signal" communication.

But unlike several Cabinet officers, Waltz had qualifications for his post. He had military experience (was a Green Beret), and received numerous decorations, plus he had follow-up jobs that related to national defense.

But basically, Waltz has the same underlying and extremely destructive trait that Trump, Cabinet members and others around them all have: they possess no practical knowledge of the core values that make American democracy what it is: they fail totally to comprehend in meaningful ways what are the core values that define our Democracy, like justice and equality for all.

Most of us Americans now living have profited greatly from having lived in a country where justice and equality have been guaranteed for all residents, be they citizens, illegals or here for other reasons.

I shudder even with the thought that people like Mike Waltz may one day redefine if not actually do away with our Democracy. But let's be clear: when our governmental leaders work toward anything like a dictatorship, they are abandoning Democracy's core values. And it is up to us, the people, to halt such attempts, and before those pushing them can do anything that might lead to long-term damage to our way of life.

Let's not kid ourselves. It could happen. If we the people go to sleep, tyrants can take over before we realize it.

So, Wake up, America! Care again! Love again! Work WITH one another in the bonds that unite us, bonds that were meant to be cemented in the USA for eternity.
